How to Take Care of Your Skin During the Summer (2021 Edition)

AAM conveniently falls at the beginning of summer, which is the perfect opportunity to remind everyone of a few important skin care tips to keep clear skin all summer long.

  1. TOO MUCH SUN WILL CAUSE BREAKOUTS

Myth busters, here! You might have noticed your skin looks clearer after spending time in the sun, and your skin looks tighter and better. Do not be fooled, this is just for the first day! Immediately after, your skin will react to the harsh sun it received and the major dehydration. Expect to see an overproduction of sebum for your skin to make up for the lack of hydration, and thus clogging the pores leading to breakouts.

 

  1. DRINK WATER 💧

A classic tip, but so important, which is why it is included in every blog/article and post about taking care of skin during the summer. Hydrating from the inside is just as crucial as hydrating from the outside. The more you hydrate the less your skin needs to compensate!

Protect your skin! Make sure your SPF is oily-skin friendly.

 

  1. WASH YOUR FACE DAILY IF NOT 2X A DAY 🛁

During the summer we sweat a lot more and spend more time outdoors exposed to external irritants. Therefore, it's really important to wash your face daily! Make it a ritual!
